SQA Steps to Work Award (SQA)

Why this award?

The Steps to Work Award helps engage young people. Available at SCQF levels 2, 3 and 4, it provides a stepping stone for some learners between school, further education, training and employment.

The Award aims to develop self-esteem, self-awareness and self-confidence. Learners are encouraged to engage by focusing on an area that interests them. Through practical activities, employability skills and self awareness are developed to help recognise their own strengths and the contribution they can make to society.

Who is it for?

​For young people aged 14+. The flexible nature of the Award makes it suitable for a wide range of candidates from different educational settings such as schools, colleges, educational training providers, the community or the voluntary sector.

What time commitment is required?

80 hrs
