About Scottish Sports Futures

Scottish Sports Futures (SSF) were created over 20 years ago, and have established ourselves as an expert organisation taking a sport for development approach and harnessing the power of youth work and physical activity. Our vision is of a world where all young people have the opportunity to fulfill their potential. We believe in the power of sport to transform lives and we use sport and physical activity to enable young people to be healthier, more confident, resilient and better prepared to combat the effects of poverty, trauma and adversity. We focus our work in some of the most challenged communities and support young people to reach a positive destination and become champions for good within society through our range of trauma-informed, needs-based and person-centred youth work and sport programmes.

Why this award?

This SCQF Level 4 module explores how to develop transferable communication skills through participation in sport. The module focuses on building understanding around how we use communication in sports, why these are important skills and how they can be transferred into everyday life.

Learning Outcomes:

Explain verbal and non-verbal communication between the sender and receiver and challenges which can appear within the communication process.
Plan, deliver and review a coaching activity to support the development of communication skills.

This SCQF Level 4 is delivered and internally verified by SSF, before being accredited via Glasgow Kelvin College,
