About Gen+

Gen+ is a registered Scottish charity with programmes designed to deliver on the Scottish Government’s vision for education: ensuring children and young people acquire a broad range of skills and capacities at the highest levels. Gen+ is a meta-skills programme available to learners in every classroom across Scotland. Gen+ provides a comprehensive meta-skills education through two unique programmes for learners P6-S3 and their teachers, Gen+ Learn and Gen+ Teach. These meta-skills (communication, collaboration, initiative, leadership, resilience, organisation, adaptability, creativity and critical thinking) are the foundation of the Gen+ programme. Our vision is to equip and inspire the next generation through supporting learners to develop crucial meta-skills, so they have the ability and confidence to learn, lead, and thrive.

Budget: Flat Fee, per annum subscription, ranging from £150 to £250 for the Primary courses, and £750 to £2000 for the Secondary courses – both dependent on school roll size.

Why this award?

Having emerged from Trailblazer and Gamechanger as full-fledged meta-skills leaders, learners are expected to apply their meta-skills knowledge to novel challenges in the Innovator course.

The course’s projects provide learners with a chance to link their meta-skills knowledge and confidence to real-world problems and the world of work.

Along the way, they develop higher-order meta-skills, such as creativity and critical thinking, preparing them to drive innovation and solve complex issues.
