CASE STUDY
This video case-study presents the Hi5 Rugby programme in East Lothian. The programme engaged 276 young people, all of whom successfully achieved a Youth Scotland Hi 5 Award in recognition of their participation and learning. Feedback from both pupils and teachers highlighted increased engagement, enthusiasm for learning and stronger connections between schools and the wider community. Most importantly, thank you to the pupils and staff from Sanderson’s Wynd, St Martin’s RC, Windygoul, Elphinstone, Macmerry, Pencaitland and Ormiston Primary Schools for their commitment and enthusiasm throughout the programme.
Michael Hird - the head of programme organising would like to extend sincere thanks to Cashback for Communities and the East Lothian Educational Trust for their generous funding and support of the Hi 5 Rugby Programme delivered through Ross High School. Their contribution helped provide high-quality learning resources, transport, equipment and memorable experiences for young people across seven East Lothian primary schools. A special thank you to Edinburgh Rugby for delivering the inspiring Tackle Maths workshops at Scottish Gas Murrayfield, AC Taxis for providing transport and Youth Scotland for their support in designing the programme and creating exciting filming opportunities that showcased participants' achievements.
