Scouts Scotland Chief Scout’s Platinum Award

Why this award?

 

The Chief Scout's Platinum Award is available for Explorer Scouts aged between 14 and 18 and precedes the Chief Scout's Diamond Award. Completion of this award will demonstrate commitment, determination, team work, leadership and will help participants to be more adaptable, confident, resilient and learn new skills for life. All recipients receive a formal certificate and badge to wear on their uniform.

Who is it for?

The Chief Scout’s Platinum Award is available for Explorer Scouts aged between 14 and 18 and precedes the Chief Scout’s Diamond Award.

By completing the Chief Scout’s Platinum Award, a young person can also fulfil the requirements for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award.

What time commitment is required?

The Chief Scout’s Platinum Award will typically require a weekly commitment over a minimum 6-month period to meet the requirements of the award. The weekly commitment will be to activities such as physical recreation, skill and volunteering. Additional commitments such as weekends will be required for expeditions and nights away experiences.

Is the award externally accredited?

The Chief Scout’s Platinum Award is recognised by the presentation of a certificate and a badge that can be worn on Scout uniform.
