This September 2026 issue of our newsletter focuses on youth awards which build experiences related to Scotland's industries.
My name is Thomas Wild, head of Stemovators, a nationwide STEM outreach programme delivered by Prosper. This year we’ve supported more schools, classes, and communities than ever, to fulfill our core mission: to ignite curiosity, spark creativity, and build confidence in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). Through our award-winning programme of hands-on learning, collaborative challenges, and teacher-led innovation, we help young people across Scotland develop the skills and mindsets they need to thrive in a changing world.
We’re proud to be part of the Awards Network, working with fellow awards providers to raise awareness of Scotland's leading industries. It is through our collective efforts to reach underrepresented groups and champion equity, diversity and inclusion that we make a positive impact. Indeed, Stemovators was recognised this year with an award from ScottishPower for breaking down some of these barriers.
Now in its 40th year, Stemovators is one of a growing number of examples of the ways awards improve connections and awareness of industries among young people. For instance, Stemovators is launching a new project which focuses on our marine ecosystem to ensure that young people have a chance to learn more about the industries they may find work in, when they leave school. In this newsletter you will see articles about other industry connections from first-aid to fashion. Awards Network providers are therefore critical to supporting the next generation to become equipped with the skills and knowledge to meet tomorrow’s challenges.
