Comedy & Confidence™ The DirectDevitt Comedy Award offers the opportunity to learn how to use Comedy in presentations, public speaking and includes Laughter Yoga Therapy Techniques for daily coping mechanisms.
During the course attendees get to deliver chosen comedy styles and learn the body language, emotion and vocal techniques behind the style. This course offers hands-on experience of public speaking & using comedy while learning transferable skills within communication and confidence techniques. An approved Tutor will lead a series of candidate centred activities, to build on prior knowledge and skills development throughout the course.
By the end of this Group Award course candidates will have skills and abilities in the following:
Public Speaking, Comedy Writing, Self-confidence, Communication Skills, Performance Skills and Self and Peer Evaluation.
This course is highly practical, and each candidate will build a portfolio of their own skills, creative work and comedy content, which can be submitted through audio, visual and written materials. Candidates will fulfil the roles of writer & performer. As well as experiencing the thrill of live performances and being an active audience member they will learn through self and peer evaluation activities throughout the duration of the course.

Comedy & Confidence® is cross-curricular and can be used to evidence other programs around team building, challenges, work experience, employability and self-development.
For each level there is a set period of hours of delivery. These vary from 20 – 45 hours and can be divided to suit the organisation whom is buying it in.
