ASDAN Short Courses are flexible, portfolio-based programmes designed to accredit up to 60 hours of activity and skills development across a range of topics and curriculum areas. There are more than 30 programmes to choose from. Students present a portfolio of evidence of their activities. This portfolio will contain a completed Short Course book and evidence of challenges completed; planning and reviewing documents; record of progress; and summary of achievement, identifying skills development.
Short Courses are widely used in formal and non-formal settings by 13-19 year olds, as well as by adults and younger learners where appropriate. Because they are multi-level, the focus is on completing challenges and skills development according to individual ability, rather than attainment at a specific level.
Short Courses can accredit between 10 and 60 hours of activities.
Once students’ work has been internally moderated, centres can request certificates for successful candidates from ASDAN, using the form in the members area.
There is no external moderation for this programme, although ASDAN reserves the right to request samples of candidates’ work for quality assurance purposes.>
