The Trust’s Skills for Life Award is their flagship programme. Attracting young people from across the country and around the world, participants are invited to step outside of their comfort zones for 19-days to have a real adventure, build friendships and to create some amazing memories! What’s more is that the Award’s outcomes have been specifically developed to give participants the clarity to realise their ambitions and achieve their life goals. Whether it’s college, university, an apprenticeship or something else entirely this Award will help get you there. “It was the best three weeks I've ever experienced and has changed me as a person as well as given me lifelong friends in the process” Honor – Skills for Life Award participant summer 2017
Looking to go to college, university, get an apprenticeship or perhaps start your own business? Then this is for you…
Attracting young people from across the country and around the world, the Award offers a fresh perspective on life, and will open any curious mind to new and alternative way of thinking.
From climbing to kayaking to two multi-day expeditions, outdoor adventure will be at the heart of everything you do. Going above and beyond any other Outward Bound experience to show yourself what you’re capable of.
The Award takes 19-days to complete, starting at 5:30pm on a Monday and finishing at 9am on Friday.
Participants may choose from one of three outdoor residential centres to complete their Award. From the highlands of Loch Eil (Fort William) and beaches of Aberdovey (Wales), to the Lake District (England) at Ullswater.
The Skills for Life Award is certificated and accredited by the The Outward Bound Trust.
