The Baden-Powell award is the highest achievement a Guide can achieve. It is made up of 5 zones which aim to encourage participants to try new things and push their boundaries. The 5 zones are healthy lifestyle, global awareness, discovery, skills and relationships and celebrating diversity. To achieve the award participants must also complete an Adventure which is usually a residential event that encourages them to experience something outside of their usual experiences, allows them to meet other Guides completing the Award and celebrates their achievement.
The Baden-Powell Challenge Award is for Guides
(usually ready to start the award aged 12 -14 years) who have made their Promise,
gained at least two Guide Challenge Badges, and gained at least two interest
badges. This shows commitment to guiding.
It can take 12 to 18 months to complete the Baden-Powell
Award. Members must have gained at least two Guide Challenge Badges prior to
starting their Baden-Powell Challenge Award, and each challenge badge takes 12
months to complete.
