From its roots working closely with uniformed youth organisations, CVQO now shares its wealth of experience and expertise with organisations including St John Ambulance, the Prince's Trust, Police Cadets, Fire Service and others outside the UK.
CVQO encourages learners from all backgrounds and abilities, offering equality of access to valuable, internationally-recognised qualifications.
BTEC Diplomas are offered in Public Services (a mix of theory and practical work to include leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, communications, government, outdoor activities and expeditions) and in Music (understanding of all aspects of performance, including solo and ensemble work and how to organise an event, including budgets, marketing, advertising, programme and publicity.
CVQO offers a broad range of vocational qualifications that are designed to recognise the work undertaken by young people within youth organisations. It provides open access to all learners aged 16+ who are members of the cadet services. As a registered charity, CVQO provides an alternative route to employment and higher education through the delivery of a range of vocational awards.
Our qualifications reflect and recognise the work young people do in youth groups. This means colleges, universities and employers gain a better understanding and an appreciation of these skills, which creates a clearer path between youth groups, further education and the workplace.
All the qualifications offered by CVQ are left open for completion for up to two years, but certain awards can be completed in less time.
CVQO’s awards and qualifications are accredited by Edexcel (BTEC Extended Certificates and Diplomas), City and Guilds (adult awards), and the Institute of Leadership and Management. The BTEC Extended Certificates and Diplomas are available in Public Services and in Music.
